
Compared to June, the unemployment indicator rose by 0.1 percentage points in the euro area and remained stable in the EU.
Eurostat estimates that in August, 13.089 million people were unemployed in the EU, including 10.842 million in the eurozone.
According to the European statistics service, among Member States, the highest unemployment rates in August were recorded in Spain (10.3%), Finland (9.8%), and Sweden (8.7%), while the lowest were in Slovenia and Malta (2.9% each), Poland and the Czech Republic (3.2% each), and Bulgaria (3.6%).
In Portugal, the unemployment rate was 6.1% in August.
