The ‘healthhub’ will serve as an innovation center to “accelerate technological solutions” addressing key challenges in the healthcare sector and will be established in partnership with AstraZeneca, CUF, Linde, the European Longevity Hub, and SITIO, according to a statement.
Located in Rossio, within the new SITIO building, the hub comprises 11 private rooms and 56 workstations designed to host startups and teams at various stages of growth.
The statement notes that the ‘healthhub’ will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, universities like Católica Medical School and Nova Medical School, and companies to create a “dynamic and collaborative community in the health sector that can scale internationally.”
The aim of this new center is to “develop a global innovation hub in the health sector capable of attracting talent, investment, job creation, and new strategic partnerships,” thereby establishing “the city as the European capital of innovation.”
Gil Azevedo, CEO of Unicorn Factory Lisboa, stated in a release that “the health sector faces significant challenges and is undergoing a transformation […] the ‘healthhub’ is born to accelerate this change by bringing together talent and strategic partners to develop innovative solutions that improve efficiency in the sector, increase the responsiveness of health services, and support new growth areas like longevity.”
This is the sixth hub inaugurated by Unicorn Factory Lisboa in its three years of operation.
