Several days after the public complaint by STRN regarding the constraints in the IT applications serving the registries, the situation not only persists but has worsened, according to a statement from the union. The union criticized the authorities for not providing any response or clarification so far.
The statement comes a week after STRN reported that registries such as those in Arruda dos Vinhos and Caldas da Rainha experienced critical system failures, reflecting an issue that is widespread across the national territory.
The union, led by Arménio Maximino, emphasizes that the “technological failures,” which severely affect the issuance of urgent documents, like the PEP, are more pronounced “during this critical holiday period” due to “increased demand” and “scarcity of human resources.”
STRN reiterates its call to the Government to take “urgent measures to definitively resolve the IT problems,” which the union claims have been ongoing for weeks.
Lusa contacted the Ministry of Justice, which directed inquiries to the Institute of Registries and Notaries, with a response pending.
