
The Federação dos Sindicatos de Transportes e Comunicações (Fectrans) announced via a statement that the administration of CP has scheduled a meeting with union organizations, during which a new proposal was put forward.
This proposal includes an “additional increase starting from January this year, adding to the 34 euros already applied through management action, aligning with the difference from the 2018 National Minimum Wage (SMN).” The increase will vary according to each index.
CP also presented a plan for a further “4% wage increase for all employees in December 2025.” From January this year, there will be a reduction in permanence times, “reducing the first index to 1 year, the second to 2 years, the subsequent ones to 3, and the last to 4.”
“We have raised various issues to be analyzed by the administration and are currently reviewing the content of this proposal, seeking a wide range of opinions,” stated Fectrans, indicating that discussions with other worker representative organizations will take place later today.
Several unions representing CP – Comboios de Portugal workers have issued a strike notice for May 7 and 8, opposing the imposition of wage increases and other grievances, they revealed in their statement.
The unions clarified that the strike is called “against the imposition of wage increases that do not restore purchasing power” and for “collective negotiation of fair wage increases.”
The workers are also advocating for the “implementation of the salary restructuring agreement as negotiated and agreed.”
The strike notice was issued by the Associação Sindical das Chefias Intermédias de Exploração Ferroviária (ASCEF), Associação Sindical Independente dos Ferroviários da Carreira Comercial (ASSIFECO), Federação dos Sindicatos dos Transportes e Comunicações (FECTRANS), Sindicato Nacional dos Transportes Comunicações e Obras Públicas (FENTCOP), Sindicato Nacional dos Ferroviários do Movimento e Afins (SINAFE), Sindicato Nacional Democrático da Ferrovia (SINDEFER), and Sindicato Independente dos Trabalhadores Ferroviários das Infraestruturas e Afins (SINFA).
Other signatories include the Sindicato Independente Nacional dos Ferroviários (SINFB), Sindicato Nacional dos Trabalhadores dos Transportes e Indústria (SINTTI), Sindicato Independente dos Operacionais Ferroviários e Afins (SIOFA), Sindical Nacional de Quadros Técnicos (SNAQ), Sindicato Nacional dos Trabalhadores do Setor Ferroviário (SNTSF), Sindicato dos Transportes Ferroviários (STF), and Sindicato dos Trabalhadores do Metro e Ferroviários (STMEFE).
