
According to a document discussed during the public meeting of the municipal executive, 78.41% of complaints are related to uncompleted journeys. Additionally, bus delays are another significant reason for the grievances reported.
“The number of complaints has increased in every quarter,” the document states.
Rui Rocha Pereira, a representative from the PSD, criticized the services provided, claiming they are subpar and that many communities are now worse off than before. He highlighted that transport operators are not meeting standards and stressed the need for action against the transport company.
Meanwhile, Marina Mendes, the Vice President of the Vila Nova de Gaia City Council, who led the meeting, described the situation as bittersweet. She acknowledged the high demand alongside numerous issues that require addressing. “We are working to rectify these needs,” she assured.
In 2024, Unir buses served 7.2 million passengers in this municipality located in the Porto district, averaging 14 passengers per trip.
