UP TO THE MINUTE: Nine candidates for the Lisbon City Council face off in debate

The nine candidates for the presidency of the Porto City Council engage in a debate this Thursday, ahead of the municipal elections on October 12. Key issues such as hygiene, security, housing, and transport will be discussed.

Here are the candidates running for Lisbon City Council: Alexandra Leitão (PS/L/BE/PAN), Carlos Moedas (PSD/CDS/IL), Bruno Mascarenhas (Chega), João Ferreira (CDU), Osssanda Líber (Nova Direita), Adelaide Ferreira (ADN), José Almeida (Volt Portugal), Tomaz Dentinho (PPM/PTP), and Luís Mendes (RIR).

Currently, the city executive includes seven elected from the ‘Novos Tempos’ coalition – PSD/CDS-PP/MPT/PPM/Aliança, seven from the ‘Mais Lisboa’ coalition – PS/Livre, two from CDU, and one from BE.
