The survey data from companies operating in the urban rehabilitation sector indicate a 1.7% year-on-year decline in the activity level index in June, halting the recovery observed in the previous month.
Conversely, the order book index increased by 4.9% year-on-year, “reinforcing positive demand signals.”
The contracted production, an indicator estimating the average duration of work secured at a normal execution pace, stood at 9.7 months, below the 10.5 months recorded in June 2024.
Regarding municipal licensing of urban rehabilitation works, AICCOPN reports that by May, 2,793 licenses were issued, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.6%.
This trend “largely results from the 17.6% growth recorded in the residential buildings segment, which totaled 1,684 licenses issued,” according to the note.
It should be noted that the licensing data exclusively refer to interventions subject to prior municipal control, thus not reflecting the entirety of urban rehabilitation activity carried out in the country.
