Use the Grilo tunnel? Attention, there will be a traffic cut next week.

Tublinidade de Portugal (IP) announced on Wednesday, August 20, that ventilation and lighting systems tests will be conducted in the Grilo Tunnel – CRIL, in Lisbon, during the night of August 25 to 26.

The execution of these tests requires the closure of all access roads to the Grilo Tunnel in the Algés-Sacavém direction from 10:00 PM on Monday, August 25, until 6:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26.

During this period, the following alternative routes are advised by Infraestruturas de Portugal:

  • Travelers from the A8 heading to the Grilo Tunnel should continue on the A8 until the exit for Av. Padre Cruz/Calçada de Carriche.
  • Travelers from the IC17 should head towards Av. Padre Cruz/Calçada de Carriche.
  • Travelers from Odivelas (A40) should proceed straight to Av. Padre Cruz/Calçada de Carriche.

During daytime hours, between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, existing traffic conditions and restrictions remain unchanged.

IP further stated that the Public Security Police (PSP) will be present to assist and coordinate vehicle traffic.

Traffic restrictions and alternative detours will be clearly marked on-site and indicated on the Variable Message Signs.

“We greatly appreciate your understanding for any inconveniences these measures may cause, as they are necessary to ensure the safety of both workers on-site and motorists,” the statement concluded.
