Vaccines against influenza and hepatitis A among drugs prohibited for export

The list released by the National Authority for Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) comprises 73 drugs, 13 more than in November, with temporarily suspended exports, according to the information circular from Infarmed.

This list is updated monthly and includes drugs that experienced shortages in the previous month, considered to have a medium or high impact on public health, as well as others supplied under Exceptional Use Authorization (AUE).

The export suspension aims to ensure the supply of the national market and applies to all entities in the distribution chain, including manufacturers.

Infarmed monitors information daily about shortages, disruptions, and marketing cessation to identify and prevent critical situations that might affect drug availability.

The national medicine authority is part of the European network of contact points for national competent authorities, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the European Commission, which has been used since April 2019 for sharing information on supply disruptions and availability issues of medicines authorized in the European Union.
