Valença launches a 1.2 million tender for the construction of a new nursery school

The contract execution is scheduled for 365 days, as announced today in the Diário da República (DR).

The deadline for submitting proposals is set for 5:00 PM on July 7, with competitors required to maintain their proposals for 120 days from that date.

The opening of the tender was unanimously approved last week during a meeting of the municipal executive of Valença in the district of Viana do Castelo.

The municipality stated that the future infrastructure will be located on Rua do Estaleiro, at the entrance of the Business Park, in the parish of Gandra, and it represents an investment of approximately 1.4 million euros.

The new daycare will have the capacity to accommodate 42 children and aims to provide a structured response to the needs of families and the local business community.

The building, comprising a single floor, will be equipped with a nursery, an activity room for children aged 12 to 24 months, and an activity room for children aged 24 to 36 months.

The new facility will also include two dormitories, a kitchen, a laundry room, and various technical and logistical support spaces.

Two outdoor playgrounds are also planned, one intended for the nursery and another for children over 24 months old, as noted by the municipality.

The project will be sponsored by the Valença City Council, with technical support from Social Security, and will receive funding under the Program for the Redevelopment and Expansion of the Network of Social Equipment and Responses, part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), through the initiative “New Generation of Social Equipment and Responses.”
