A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Braga Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard (GNR) through the Barcelos Territorial Post last Friday, October 31, for drug trafficking. A strong odor was emanating from the vehicle he was in.
In a statement sent this Sunday to newsrooms, the GNR indicated that, “during a patrol action carried out in the locality of Lijó,” the officers “detected a suspicious vehicle parked in an isolated area and proceeded to approach it.”
During the proceedings, they found that, “a strong odor of a narcotic substance was emanating from inside the vehicle” and, given this fact, conducted “a security search of the driver and a summary search of the vehicle.”
These actions “allowed confirmation of the presence of illegal substances.”
The operation “culminated in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of 36 doses of hashish,” further emphasized the National Republican Guard in the same note.
The detainee was named as a defendant, and the facts were communicated to the Vila Nova de Famalicão Judicial Court.
