
“I have been continuously updated by the Government, mainly by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, on everything being done to anticipate the various possible scenarios and have solutions,” he stated.
When questioned about the scenarios he was referring to, the head of state replied that it was not his place to discuss them.
The PS questioned the Government today on how it is monitoring the situation of the Portuguese community and descendants in Venezuela and whether any emergency operations are anticipated, given the limitations of air connections in that country.
Speaking to journalists at the end of his visit to the Food Bank in Alcântara, Lisbon, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa reiterated his concern about the situation of the Portuguese community in Venezuela, which is experiencing a challenging time in the country.
The Food Bank Against Hunger’s food collection campaign started today.
The action involves the participation of more than 42,000 volunteers in 2,000 stores nationwide, inviting the sharing of non-perishable food with those in need.
The campaign runs until November 30 in physical stores and extends to December 7 at www.alimentestaideia.pt.
