The Venezuelan government followed through on its threat on the night of Wednesday, November 26, by revoking the air traffic authorizations of five airlines: TAP, Iberia, Avianca, Latam Colombia, Turkish Airlines, and Gol.
The Nicolás Maduro regime prohibited these airlines from traveling to the country citing “strictly political” reasons.
The Ministry of Transport and the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) accused the airlines of “joining the terrorist acts of state promoted by the United States government by unilaterally suspending commercial air operations to and from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
The revocation order was published in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela after the companies in question decided to suspend flights to the country amid growing tensions between Caracas and Washington.

Last Sunday, Turkish Airlines cancelled its scheduled flights to Venezuela between Monday and Friday, joining six other airlines: TAP (Portugal), Gol (Brazil), Avianca (Colombia), Latam (Chile), and Caribbean Airlines (Trinidad and Tobago-Jamaica).
