Ventura claims to be “sad” with Mithá Ribeiro: “Not even a call”

Chega leader André Ventura expressed his dismay this Sunday over criticisms from Gabriel Mithá Ribeiro, who in an opinion article accused him of being a “narcissistic predator” that “abuses power” and has a “vengeful demon.” Mithá Ribeiro also did not inform Ventura about his decision to resign as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic.

“I want to say that I’m sad and it leaves me saddened. It’s a heavy sadness I feel about someone who leaves and speaks ill of everyone… Calling me a demon, a narcissist, etc., just because he wasn’t part of a shadow government,” Ventura remarked in a video shared on Instagram.

He questioned: “If I had appointed him to the shadow government, would I still be a demon and a narcissist?”

Ventura stated that Mithá Ribeiro’s stance “doesn’t make sense” and “gives people the idea that politicians are only here for positions and perks” and because “they think they deserve something specific.”

“This saddens me a lot. I think it’s the wrong way to be in politics. In this case, it weighs on me a bit more because I was the one who supported Professor Gabriel Mithá Ribeiro when many structures, including his district structure, didn’t want him with the deputy mandate and didn’t want to maintain him in the Assembly of the Republic,” he stated.

The Chega leader recalled appointing Mithá Ribeiro “to the table of the Assembly of the Republic,” which he represented “until a few days ago.” “It makes no sense, but it saddens and hurts because we feel a turnabout in the way of thinking and, above all, a breach of trust,” he added.

Ventura mentioned that there was “not even a call” from Mithá Ribeiro to inform about his resignation as a Chega deputy, ultimately representing “a way of being in politics that interests no one.”

Mithá Ribeiro criticizes André Ventura: “Narcissistic predator” with “vengeful demon”

On Friday, in an opinion article published by the Observador, Mithá Ribeiro disclosed that he left the Assembly of the Republic after being excluded from the Chega’s shadow government and described André Ventura as a “narcissistic predator” who “abuses power” and has a “vengeful demon.”

“I detached myself from Chega, as I would not allow myself to engage in one of the most scandalous practices of social parasitism and subsidy-dependency, the toy-deputy condition in the hands of a narcissistic leader incompatible with any form of collective subject, who sought to destroy the foundations of a solid institution that would serve as an existential filter,” the former parliamentarian wrote.

In the article, Mithá Ribeiro describes the “7 deadly sins” of André Ventura, whom he accuses several times of being “narcissistic”: “Contempt [for reformist ideals],” “Moral unconsciousness,” “Civic negligence,” “Inhuman coldness [of a leader of ignorants],” “Arrogance [of violator of the exercise of sovereign function],” “Irresponsibility [of playing shadow government]” and “Immaturity [of politicians destroying peoples].”

Gabriel Mithá Ribeiro revealed that after sharing a critique of André Ventura on social media in 2022, the Chega leader called him and spoke in an “offensive and aggressive tone.”

Mithá Ribeiro was elected a deputy in the XV, XVI, and XVII legislatures, always for the Leiria district, having been reappointed as secretary of the table of the Assembly of the Republic last June, following early legislative elections.
