“I would like to demand an explanation from the government about this. We cannot deceive people. What happened regarding IRS was a fraud. It was a fraud,” stated André Ventura to journalists during a rally in the center of Ponta Delgada, in the Azores.
The president of Chega expressed that he had not found “anyone who says they are better off than a year ago” and criticized the “historic tax burden” present both with the current government and the previous one, led by António Costa (PS).
“It is now understood why the levels of tax burden continue to be historically high because there was a government that would take directly, and there is one that pretends not to take but will take. And will take even more,” he argued.
