“I would like to express a very strong feeling of condolences to the family and to his comrades in the Algarve as well. Our condolences, our solidarity, our feelings, and to tell them that we will continue to work every day to ensure that situations like this do not happen,” stated André Ventura.
Speaking to journalists at the Assembly of the Republic, Ventura expressed his hope that those responsible “are quickly apprehended and swiftly brought to justice.”
“It is an example of how we should be firmer. Those who caused the death of this officer must pay a very high price,” he asserted.
