
Arriving at the hotel chosen by the party to monitor election night, Chega’s leader addressed the media, responding to projections suggesting the party is poised to increase in both votes and parliamentary seats, potentially surpassing the Socialist Party to become the second-largest political force.
“This is a great victory for Chega” and “a significant outcome,” declared André Ventura, emphasizing that “the political system has changed.”
“For a party to break, in actual results, in votes, the dominance of the two major governing parties can only mean one thing: today, Chega is the alternative to governance,” he argued further.
When asked about potential governance scenarios, the president of Chega deferred his response to a later time.
