The Portuguese band NAPA, which represented Portugal at the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Deslocado’, expressed appreciation this Sunday for the “support” and “love” from voters after securing the 21st place.
“This Eurovision journey has ended. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us,” the band from Madeira began in a video posted on the official Instagram page of the Festival da Canção.
“We are very happy with the path we are taking. Thank you for the support, we feel that love. A big kiss to everyone,” they added.
Austria, represented by JJ with ‘Wasted Love’, triumphed in the latest edition of Eurovision, amassing a total of 436 points. Meanwhile, Portugal, having qualified for the final in the first semifinal, finished in 21st place with 50 points.
Austria’s previous victories occurred in 1966 with the song ‘Merci Chérie’ performed by Udo Jürgens, and in 2014 with ‘Rise like a Phoenix’ performed by Conchita Wurst.
Notably, the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 took place from May 13 to 17 in Basel, Switzerland, following Nemo’s victory with ‘The Code’ in 2024.
