
At 09:40, a passenger vehicle was struck by a train on the Oeste railway line between Torres Vedras and Bombarral, resulting in a severe injury to one individual, who later died.
The victim received on-site assistance from the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle crew of Torres Vedras.
The Oeste railway line was closed, and as of 12:00, it had not been reopened.
Contacted by Lusa, a source from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) stated that the line remained closed for authorities to continue their “procedures.”
The railway structure and the train sustained no damage, according to the same source.
The causes of the accident are still unknown.
