
Six individuals have died following a car accident in the early hours of Sunday on Avenida das Forças Armadas in Lisbon. The vehicle caught fire after the collision. The victims are reported to be six young people, aged between 18 and 20 years.
Initially, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) informed that five people had died in the incident.
“The first information we received indicated that there were five carbonized victims inside the vehicle,” stated a PSP source.
The alert for this fatal accident was issued at approximately 3:40 AM.
According to the PSP, a car lost control, hit a pillar, and caught fire, with five people inside who were found burnt.
The crash occurred “relatively close to the United States Embassy in Lisbon,” the source specified.
By 11:00 AM, it was updated that the victims were six young people aged between 18 and 20. The driver was 19 years old, accompanied by two other men and three women.
On the scene are the Lisbon Fire Brigade and members of the Institute of Legal Medicine, attempting to identify the victims, as their belongings were destroyed in the fire.
