
At least seventeen people were injured on Saturday when broken glass fell onto Sporting supporters in the José Alvalade Stadium during a match with FC Porto.
“Broken glass fell into the stand of Sporting supporters,” stated the Public Security Police (PSP) to journalists at the scene.
“One person was transported to the Hospital de Santa Maria,” the same source added, noting that the injuries were all considered minor.
A video shared on social media captures the moment FC Porto fans returned to their seats after crossing a barrier. It is reported that FC Porto fans broke the glass which then fell and injured Sporting fans.

Speaking further to the press, the PSP explained that emergency services were deployed to the site, but some individuals had already left the stadium and called 112.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to identify those responsible. As of now, no one has been identified.
