The new project, set to join the Collection brand, was officially announced last week with the signing of the land transfer agreement for a 108,000 square meter area. The ceremony was attended by the president and founder of the Portuguese group, Jorge Rebelo de Almeida, and the mayor of Brumadinho, Gabriel Augusto Parreiras.
Located in the southeast region of Brazil, approximately 40 minutes from Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, the future hotel will overlook the Barragem do Rio Manso. It will be equipped with restaurants, bars, swimming pools including a wave pool, a lake, a Satsanga spa, and event spaces.
“We are the largest resort chain in Brazil and we have an innovation: countryside resorts, like our development in Ouro Preto and what Brumadinho will become. This new unit of ours will appeal to all audiences, including the locals,” stated the president of the Vila Galé group.
The city of Brumadinho is home to the Inhotim Institute, a contemporary art museum and botanical garden that is considered the largest open-air museum in Latin America.
“The destination has been establishing itself as an important cultural and touristic hub, with great potential for growth and appreciation,” added the hotel group in a statement.
The Vila Galé group manages 52 hotels in four countries, 34 of which are in Portugal, 13 in Brazil, four in Cuba, and one in Spain, totaling over 11,000 rooms.
