The journalist Vítor Gonçalves has been appointed as the new news director of RTP, replacing António José Teixeira, who was dismissed on Monday by the management board of the public television company, the company confirmed to Lusa.
Vítor Gonçalves, 56, has been with RTP for 33 years, having served as deputy director and as the public television’s correspondent in Washington. He currently hosts the program “Grande Entrevista” on Wednesdays on RTP3.
