The first month of 2023 brought a historical milestone to Volvo Car Portugal: never before have electric models had so much “weight” in its sales.
Volvo Car Portugal has just revealed its sales results for January 2023 and if there is something that stands out it is the “weight” of the electric models in the Swedish brand’s sales.
In a month in which it sold 433 cars (41% more than in 2022), Volvo Car Portugal saw 100% electric models represent 46% of its sales.
In fact, the XC40 Recharge was even Volvo’s best seller, helping it establish itself as the third brand that sold the most electric cars in Portugal last month.
In total, the Recharge range – which includes electric models and plug-in hybrids – accounted for 81% of the Scandinavian brand’s sales in January.
The “weight” of electrification
It wasn’t only in Portugal that electrified models gained “weight” in Volvo’s sales. Worldwide, they represented 41% of total sales in January 2023.
