Wall Street closes up thanks to the recovery of tech stocks

The session results indicate that the Dow Jones Industrial Average index advanced 0.39%, the technological Nasdaq gained 0.59%, and the broad S&P500 rose 0.25%.

“Risk appetite returned today on Wall Street, and stocks recovered from Monday’s drop,” summarized Jose Torres from Interactive Brokers.

Stock traders are making “bargain purchases,” noted Patrick O’Hare from Briefing.com.

Following the previous day’s decline, the so-called ‘Magnificent Seven’ tech conglomerates mostly ended in positive territory, such as Nvidia (+0.86%), Alphabet (+0.29%), Apple (+1.09%), and Meta (+0.97%).

Values associated with digital currencies also rebounded, alongside Bitcoin, with trading platforms such as Coinbase (+1.32%) and Robinhood (+2.20%).

On the macroeconomic front, “the enthusiasm generated by the prospect of a Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate cut may evolve this week as market operators analyze new data over the next three days,” estimated Jose Torres.

For now, investors anticipate a quarter-point rate cut by the Fed at its meeting on December 9 and 10.

On Wednesday, the monthly report on private sector job creation in November will be released, followed by September inflation on Friday.

The release of several relevant indices was delayed due to the 43-day budget impasse in Congress.

Investors also want “information on the Fed’s outlook for 2026,” added Torres.
