
Ten minutes after the market opened, the S&P500 index rose by 0.30%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 0.60%, following record highs for all three indexes on Tuesday.
Wall Street’s focus today is on the Federal Reserve meeting, where the market anticipates another quarter-point cut in key interest rates by the central bank.
In the corporate sector, quarterly results from tech giants Alphabet, Meta, and Microsoft are expected today. On Thursday, Apple and Amazon will release their results, all part of the group known as ‘The Magnificent Seven’.
