
At 2:45 PM Lisbon time, the Dow Jones index rose by 0.53% to 41,333.83 points, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq increased by 0.84% to 17,887.38 points.
The broad S&P 500 index followed a similar trend, climbing 0.66% to 5,668.45 points.
On Wednesday, the selective Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced by 0.70%, the Nasdaq progressed by 0.27%, and the broad S&P 500 gained 0.43%.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced today that a new trade agreement between Washington and London is set to be unveiled. This “comprehensive and total agreement” aims to strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom for many years to come.
This marks the first bilateral trade agreement announced since Trump began imposing tariffs on America’s trading partners.
Additionally, data released revealed that jobless claims in the U.S. fell to 228,000 last week, despite growing uncertainty over the economic impact of President Trump’s tariffs.
