Wall Street stock exchange trades higher at the start of the session

The stock market on Wall Street is trading higher today, coinciding with the United States’ assurance of the continuation of the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, despite mutual attacks between the two nations.

At 3:39 PM (Lisbon time), the Dow Jones index rose 0.78% to 42,913.33 points, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 1.08% to 19,843.17 points.

The broader S&P 500 index increased by 0.76%, reaching 6,070.91 points.

The stock market performance occurred on the same day that U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that the ceasefire between Iran and Israel remains in effect, even though he acknowledged earlier that both countries violated the agreement by attacking each other.

The ongoing conflict, now in its 12th day, was initiated when Israel struck Iranian uranium enrichment facilities, claiming it could not allow Tehran to develop nuclear weapons.
