Those seeking financial aid to replace gas stoves, ovens, and water heaters with energy-efficient electric appliances class A can apply starting September 30, announced the Minister of Environment and Energy. What are the amounts involved?
Firstly, it is important to note that the support offered for replacing gas ovens, stoves, and water heaters with electric appliances of class A or higher via a voucher will be valued at 1,683 euros for vulnerable families with social energy tariff, or 1,100 euros for those with an electricity supply contract.
DECO PROTeste clarifies that for families with social energy tariff, the maximum amounts that can be spent per equipment are:
- 369 euros for an induction electric hob;
- 179.60 euros for a conventional electric hob;
- 738 euros for an electric hob and oven set;
- 369 euros for an electric oven;
- 615 euros for an electric water heater.
Furthermore, “suppliers will be paid 50 euros for transportation and 100 euros for the installation of hobs, ovens, or hob and oven sets, and 180 euros for the installation of the electric water heater“.
For other consumers, the maximum amounts to be spent per equipment are:
- 300 euros for an induction electric hob;
- 146 euros for a conventional electric hob;
- 600 euros for an electric hob and oven set;
- 300 euros for an electric oven;
- 500 euros for an electric water heater.
It is noteworthy that “for these consumers, the voucher does not cover transportation or installation of the equipment, which will be their responsibility”.

The E-Lar program payments are made directly by the Climate Agency to suppliers, who must ensure that replaced appliances are delivered for recycling.
Applications for suppliers will open on August 18, explained the minister during a press conference in Lisbon, who expects “great participation” from merchants.
Overall, the E-Lar program’s budget could reach 40 million euros: 30 million from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and “an additional 10 million from the Environmental Fund if demand justifies it”.
When do applications open?
Maria da Graça Carvalho indicated that families wishing to benefit from this support can apply to the program from September 30 and “until the available amount is exhausted”, which she believes will happen quickly.
To apply, interested parties must fill out a form on the website www.fundoambiental.pt.
If the application is accepted, they will receive a voucher that can be used within the E-Lar program’s supplier network to purchase electric hobs, ovens, and water heaters.
