In an effort to help consumers save on supermarket purchases, a new application called ‘Preço Fresco‘ has been introduced. This app allows users to compare prices across various supermarket groups nationwide.
The App Store description highlights Preço Fresco as a “personal shopping assistant that facilitates price comparisons at your favorite supermarkets. It eliminates the need for flyers or visiting multiple stores to find the best deals. By scanning product barcodes, users receive real-time price updates,” the description reads.
The application provides a feature to compare prices among several major supermarkets, including Continente, Pingo Doce, Auchan, Intermarché, and Minipreço, and plans are underway to expand its brand list.
Product searches can be conducted by name, category, or barcode, with results updated daily.
The app additionally provides information on the ‘fair price‘ and offers guidance on whether the current price is worth purchasing or if it would be better to wait for a better offer, according to the App Store presentation. “A price history is also available,” the application’s developers note.
