Bentos Beach Garden’s special menu is a tribute to the film directed by Greta Gerwig.
The multiplication of initiatives that mark the arrival of “Barbie” in theaters, this Thursday, July 20, proves that it is one of the most anticipated productions of the year. While many prepare the #barbiecore look, – yes, there are people who intend to go dressed as Barbie and Ken to the movies – others, more discreet, adapt their cell phones to the aesthetics of the Mattel doll. At Praia da Barra, in Aveiro, the preparations are even more bizarre.
“We are all Barbie” is the motto for Bentos Beach Garden’s burger of the month – and this one comes dressed up. The color? It’s pink, of course.
“Bentos is a very creative space, where customers easily arrive and risk trying everything”, Jeannette Soares, the project’s owner, tells NiT. The XXL croissant and the Cheetos burger are proof.
This time, the novelty was designed for fans of the fantastic world – and it is already a success. “Barbie was launched this Tuesday, July 18, and we already have many reservations. It was even the best-selling burger in these two days. It looks like it’s going to be another mega hit in this house,” says the 49-year-old businesswoman.
180 grams of beef, mustard and honey sauce, onion chutney and pickles, brioche bread. The composition alone is tempting enough. But it is the Barbie cream that makes it even more special. After all, it’s pink and falls over the whole dish as soon as it hits the table.
For those who are not fans of red meat, there is the possibility to swap the protein for chicken or veggie burger. But beware, because this is a limited edition. You only have until July to devour it (€15.90).
Greta Gerwig’s film features Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling (Barbie and Ken) in the cast. The setting includes the color palette traditionally associated with the universe of toys it represents. The premiere is generating numerous reasons for discussion on social networks, from the “brilliant” double meaning of the “sexual pun” on the French poster of the film, to the depth of the existential crisis of the famous plastic figure around which the narrative revolves.
