A 38-year-old man has been identified by the PSP, suspected of using weapons “to intimidate and cause fear to his partner,” according to the Coimbra District Command of the PSP in a press release sent to Lusa news agency.
The PSP seized a replica of a firearm, an airgun, a bladed weapon, and a katana.
The press release stated that the weapons were “seized inside the couple’s shared residence, where four minors also reside.”
The suspect’s identification and the seizure of the weapons took place as part of “procedural measures issued by judicial authority, related to a domestic violence case, in the city of Figueira da Foz,” in the district of Coimbra.
According to the PSP, following the procedures conducted this morning by a team from the Figueira da Foz police division, the case was forwarded to the Department of Investigation and Penal Action “for evaluation and the adoption of legally appropriate measures.”
