The price of gasoline is set to decrease by two cents beginning Monday, although diesel prices will remain unchanged. According to the Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP), the average price of standard diesel is expected to remain at 1.571 euros per liter, while the price of standard 95 gasoline is anticipated to drop to 1.669 euros per liter.
Last week also saw a reduction in fuel prices. The price of standard 95 gasoline dropped from 1.721 euros per liter to 1.694 euros per liter from Friday to Monday, marking a decrease of 2.7 cents. Meanwhile, the price of standard diesel fell from 1.613 euros per liter to 1.577 euros per liter over the same period, reflecting a 3.6 cent reduction.
The data is based on daily average prices provided by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), which are calculated from prices reported by fuel stations, weighted with quantities sold during the last known period, and including discounts such as fleet cards. The data encompasses information from 2,959 active fuel stations.

Amid significant price hikes in recent weeks, the Minister of the Presidency stated that the government is monitoring fuel prices. Although current impacts are considered largely potential, measures may be taken if there are “very significant and long-lasting” increases.
