A 31-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday at 1:40 a.m. on Rua Horácio Marçal in Porto for the crime of domestic violence, according to a statement from the PSP.
The woman allegedly assaulted her 39-year-old partner with a bladed weapon in the chest area. He was treated by the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and taken to São João hospital, the statement detailed.
The incident, reported by Notícias ao Minuto, involved the woman, who is about two months pregnant, stabbing her partner following an argument in the early hours of Thursday, November 20, in Paranhos, Porto.
The security force mentioned that the suspect claimed the incident occurred during a moment of “nerves.” The partner reportedly pushed her, prompting her to grab a kitchen knife and stab him in the chest.
The man was transported to the hospital but is not in life-threatening condition.
