A customer at the Doce Biscoito pastry shop in Barcelos, Braga district, visited for his usual coffee on Tuesday morning. Upon leaving, he decided to try his luck with a 10-euro scratch card and remarkably won a prize of 500,000 euros.
The owner of the establishment stated that the customer “was thoughtful” upon realizing his win and asked an employee “to confirm the amount.”
The owner further explained that the customer purchased the scratch card while paying for his coffee.
Hélder Silva mentioned that he operates “more kiosks under the name Quiosques da Sorte” and that, across these locations, many prizes have been awarded, ranging from “five, 10, to even 60 thousand euros.”
However, this was the first time a scratch card yielded such a substantial amount.
