
The western group islands of Flores and Corvo are under an orange-level warning due to maritime agitation, with northwest waves, effective from 2 a.m. local time (3 a.m. in Lisbon) until 11 a.m. on Saturday, after which it will be downgraded to a yellow warning lasting until 5 p.m.
Flores and Corvo will also experience a yellow warning for maritime agitation from 11 p.m. on Friday until 2 a.m. on Saturday and for wind (initially from the west, shifting to the south) from 8 p.m. on Friday until 7 a.m. on Sunday.
The IPMA has issued a yellow warning for the central group islands, including Terceira, São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa, and Faial, owing to northwest maritime agitation, effective from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
An orange warning is issued by the IPMA when there is a moderate to high risk meteorological situation.
A yellow warning, the least severe on a three-level scale, is issued when there is a risk to certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
