The Western railway line is currently closed to train traffic following a collision involving a vehicle in Torres Vedras, situated in the Lisbon district, according to the regional Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Command.
The incident occurred when a light passenger vehicle was struck by a train at 9:39 a.m.
The collision resulted in one person being seriously injured. The individual is receiving on-site medical assistance from the Torres Vedras Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle team to stabilize their condition.
As of 10:11 a.m., the scene was attended by 15 operatives and seven vehicles, as reported by the National Authority for Civil Protection’s website.
