“When in a school we don’t find a Maria or a João: There’s a problem”

“When we look at the names in a school and cannot find an André, a João, a Maria, a Joana, or a Pedro, there is a problem. It means there is a demographic reversal,” stated André Ventura, attempting to downplay the citing of immigrant children’s names by Chega deputies during a parliamentary debate on Friday.

Speaking at the presentation of Chega’s municipal candidates for the Coimbra district held late in the afternoon, André Ventura expressed confusion over why immigrant children’s names cannot be mentioned in parliament.

“Oh, you can’t say names in parliament? I’ve never seen them terribly concerned about the children’s names, nor about the children themselves, when during miserable and shameful LGBT events they used them for cultural propaganda of what they believe in and what they tried to destroy: families and family values,” he criticized.

Throughout his speech, which lasted over 20 minutes with a strong focus on immigration, the Chega leader asserted that the Left Bloc was also not concerned about children when “just a few days ago, they even conducted propaganda with a six-year-old, or five, or ten, from these Hindustani countries.”

“This country is very funny. If you point out these names to say there is a problem, we have to correct it, chaos ensues, we have to take them to court, imprison them, this has to stop, but if they are used for leftist propaganda and to support the destructive values the left has had, then children can be used freely,” he added.

André Ventura also reiterated that Chega will not remain silent when hundreds of mothers contact him daily, claiming they have no places for their children in schools, “because others are taking these places.”

“The numbers don’t lie, and they are there. We are moving towards two million foreigners in the national territory, many of them in absolutely precarious situations, in cities scattered across the country in an absolutely uncontrolled manner without anyone giving these people a sense of the future. They let them enter without control, in any way,” he accused.

Regarding the municipal elections set for October 12, the president of Chega expressed confidence in winning “town halls across the country.”

“The numbers show that, the polls too, but above all, what I feel on the streets every day. Our municipal victory will be the first step toward our national victory and our victory in the legislative elections, whenever they may be in the country,” he concluded.
