A 27-year-old woman was arrested by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) in Porto for allegedly attempting to murder her father. The incident took place on Tuesday night.
In a statement sent to the media, the PJ stated that “the aggression followed a disagreement with the victim, her father, triggered by attempts to control behavior associated with alcohol consumption.”
“During the argument, the suspect assaulted her father with a sharp object in areas that could endanger his life,” the statement continued.
The detained woman, who has no criminal record, is to appear before judicial authorities this Wednesday at the Porto Criminal Instruction Court for interrogation and potential imposition of preventive measures.
