Woman becomes agitated with Medical Board doctors in Lisbon. Ended up detained.

A 46-year-old woman was detained on the morning of June 16 in the Avenidas Novas parish of Lisbon on suspicion of committing the crime of disobedience.

A statement issued by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) on Wednesday reveals that they were called to a health center due to disturbances.

Upon arrival, officers witnessed the suspect demanding explanations in a loud manner about the negative opinion given by the Medical Board’s doctors regarding her case. She had been informed to seek clarifications outside, with the staff, and was advised not to impede the service to other patients. The woman was also informed that she could request the Complaints Book.

However, she did not comply with the orders and continued to disrupt the normal functioning of the facility, refusing to leave the health center without a response from the doctors.

PSP asserts that the woman was “repeatedly” advised to leave, but she persisted, becoming “agitated,” leading to her arrest for the crime of disobedience.

The suspect is now under a term of identity and residence and has been notified to appear at the Local Criminal Instance of Lisbon, at the Justice Campus.
