A woman died today in a traffic accident on the Complementary Route (IC) 8 in Pombal, which has led to the road being closed, according to sources from the Civil Protection and the National Republican Guard (GNR).
The GNR reported that the accident, a head-on collision between a passenger vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle, was alerted at 07:43.
The Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Leiria Region stated that the accident occurred at kilometer 45 and resulted in one minor injury.
As of 09:50, the road was closed in both directions.
Seven vehicles and 16 personnel from the fire department, National Institute of Medical Emergency, and GNR were dispatched to the scene.
