The incident occurred at 13:52 on Rua Mariano Pina, according to a source from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP, who stated that the car either accidentally moved or was improperly braked, resulting in the death of the driver.
The same source confirmed that there are no suspicions of foul play.
A representative from the Lisbon Fire Brigade stated to Lusa that it was a hit-and-run, with a doctor from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) declaring the death at the scene.
The Fire Brigade received the alert at 13:58, deploying a vehicle and six operatives to the site, joining teams from the PSP and INEM.
