A woman was found dead late Tuesday afternoon on Simões de Castro Street, in the downtown area of Coimbra, confirmed Notícias ao Minuto with the Coimbra District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP).
The case has been handed over to the Judiciary Police (PJ), who are now investigating, according to the authority.
The alert was raised late in the afternoon, at around 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
As reported by Notícias de Coimbra, the alert to the PSP indicated an “assault with a bladed weapon,” and upon arrival, officers found the victim already deceased.
In addition to the PSP, an ambulance from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) was present at the scene.
