A 32-year-old woman was detained by the Public Security Police (PSP) last Friday, October 24, in the parish union of Sacavém and Prior Velho, on suspicion of domestic violence.
The PSP stated in a report that they were alerted to “a domestic violence situation in progress.” Upon arrival, officers encountered a victim with stab wounds on the shoulder.
Initially, the victim refused to provide details about the incident to the officers, who noted that the victim appeared to be intoxicated.
After the victim was assisted and transported to the hospital, the PSP questioned the suspect, who revealed that “violent episodes occurred frequently, and the victim was constantly drinking, leading to arguments.”
“That night, the situation repeated itself, leading to another argument and assaults, which resulted in the suspect using a kitchen knife to stab the victim in the shoulder.”
The woman was taken into custody and presented to the judicial authority, which imposed conditions on her release, including “not remaining in the residence, prohibition of contacting the victim by any means, and prohibition of approaching within 500 meters, to be monitored by electronic devices.”
