A 60-year-old woman received assistance on Saturday after a fall “while bathing in an unsupervised surf zone” at Praia do Moinho de Baixo in Sesimbra, Setúbal district.
The alert was raised at 1:49 PM by the on-duty lifeguard, as stated in a communiqué.
The National Maritime Authority (AMN) reported that the professional noted the woman “sustained an injury to one of her lower limbs,” prompting the dispatch of ‘SeaWatch’ project elements, as well as personnel from Sesimbra Volunteer Firefighters and the INEM.
“Upon arrival, ‘SeaWatch’ project members provided first aid to the victim, subsequently removing the 60-year-old woman from the beach using the Amarok to transfer her to a Sesimbra Volunteer Firefighters vehicle, which transported her to a hospital,” concluded the AMN.
