A 65-year-old woman was left in serious condition on Friday morning after being attacked by her own dog in the parish of Pedreira, Felgueiras.
A source from the National Republican Guard (GNR) confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto that the woman sustained injuries to various parts of her body, including her legs and hands, and was subsequently transported to the Hospital Padre Américo in Penafiel. However, the source could not provide further information on her current health status.
The animal involved is believed to be a crossbreed of Serra da Estrela and another undetermined breed.
The accident alert was issued around 11 a.m. The GNR was present at the scene, along with the Felgueiras Volunteer Firefighters.
