
A 38-year-old woman was stabbed to death on the morning of Thursday, November 6, at Praça da Corujeira in Porto, as confirmed by an official source from the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) to Notícias ao Minuto.
The suspect is a 36-year-old man who remains at large.
The suspect and the victim were reportedly acquainted, though the nature of their relationship is unknown.
An argument allegedly occurred for reasons yet to be determined. The man reportedly inflicted “several stab wounds on the woman, ingested a liquid substance believed to be bleach, and subsequently fled the scene.”
The crime alert was received at 8:18 am. PSP units were immediately dispatched to the scene, arriving at 8:27 am, followed by emergency services who promptly transported the victim to São João Hospital in Porto, where she succumbed to her injuries at 9:22 am.
Alongside the PSP, firefighters and emergency medical services (INEM) were also present at the scene.
The area is now sealed off for investigation, which is expected to be transferred to the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) due to the nature of the crime.
The body will be transported to the Porto Institute of Legal Medicine for an autopsy.
