A 46-year-old man was arrested on May 6 in the municipality of Valongo on suspicion of domestic violence, as reported by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in a statement released to Notícias ao Minuto on Thursday.
The authorities indicated that the victim, a 37-year-old woman, was being subjected to death threats.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Guard proceeded to the scene and conducted a search on the suspect, discovering three bladed weapons in his possession.
The individual was promptly detained and brought before a judicial magistrate on May 7, where he was remanded in custody under preventive detention.
