Workers of Metro de Lisboa continue partial strikes on the 9th and 11th.

“The workers rejected the proposal presented by the company. At this point, the strikes remain,” stated Sara Gligó from the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (FECTRANS).

However, the union leader noted that workers still believe in a “final effort” by the administration of Metropolitano de Lisboa to meet their demands.

“We believe that what separates us is not related to financial matters. Therefore, the company could make a final effort to reach us,” she argued.

Sara Gligó also mentioned that on Wednesday, there will be a discussion regarding the minimum services to be provided during the strike.

The Lusa news agency contacted Metropolitano de Lisboa for comment on this decision but has yet to receive a response.

The workers of Metropolitano de Lisboa announced partial strikes for September 9 and 11 due to a “lack of responses to their claims.”

The strike will take place from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM for operational workers, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM for workshop workers, from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM for stationary and administrative workers, and from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM for night and track workers, according to the union.

The demands include an increase in the meal, holiday, and Christmas allowances and changes in the maximum weekly working hours.

Metropolitano de Lisboa operates daily with four lines: Yellow (Rato-Odivelas), Green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia), and Red (Aeroporto-São Sebastião).

Usually, the metro operates between 6:30 AM and 1:00 AM.
