
The debris from the Elevador da Glória has been removed from Calçada da Glória. The removal operation took place during the night of Thursday and early morning today, Friday, September 5.
The works were completed around 4 a.m. and involved a tow truck and a crane, as well as several personnel.
The operation was also overseen by members of the Polícia Judiciária (PJ).
Both the destroyed cabin and the one that suffered a jolt at the base of Calçada da Glória will now be examined by the PJ to complement the ongoing investigation.
It is recalled that 16 people died in the accident last Wednesday, September 3. Among the fatalities were five Portuguese, while the remaining victims were of various other nationalities.
